A Different Kind of Shropshire
Our entire Shropshire flock goes back to Mokelumne Farms with the exception of a Barnes Farm ewe we purchased in 2013 and she fits perfectly in our flock. We strive to maintain pedigree integrity while keeping our signature look of pretty sheep.
As much as we love our Shrops the flock continued to decrease over the years as the Natural Colored and Lincoln numbers grew. We always kept breeding pretty tight to keep the integrity of the breed, but there comes a point when you really need a new ram! We knew that time was drawing near and when an amazing opportunity presented itself, we grabbed it!
In September 2021 we made our annual trip to Oregon State Fair and then headed south to Petaluma, California to Dr. Fred Grovermans house. Our friend Cody Hiemke let us know that Fred was ready to downsize his numbers and this was a great chance to add these honest pedigreed Shropshires to our own. And with that we quadrupaled our Shropshire flock!

If you know Matthew on social media, you know he has a...problem... with hashtags. So when we brought home this powerhouse of a ram lamb from Fred Groverman it was only natural to hashtag him.
